Ha Noi (VNA) - The Asia-Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC) will assist Viet Nam in combating corruption and protecting intellectual property in the coming time. APCAC Chairman Landis Hicks, who is in Viet Nam to attend the council's annual meeting to be held in Ho Chi Minh City on Mar. 23, made the commitment while meeting with Finance Minister Vu Van Ninh.
He also pledged to introduce the country's policies to attract foreign investment to businesses at the APCAC meeting.
Minister Ninh said the ministry will soon consider proposals by the American Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam to expand a number of projects.
The official expressed his hope that with its investment incentives, Viet Nam will become more attractive to foreign investors in general and US businesses in particular.
APCAC consists of 25 member AmChams in 19 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region. The APCAC members now manage trade volumes of over 400 billion USD and direct investment of nearly 300 billion USD.-Enditem
