Ha Noi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has urged ministries and agencies to intensify administrative reform in order to improve the efficiency of the State management, creating an conducive and democratic environment for people.
"This must be a focus of the Government's activities and a breakthrough in the country's socio-economic development," the PM said at a regular meeting of the Government's Steering Board for Administrative Reform in Ha Noi on April 2.
He required ministers and heads of agencies to make monthly reports of their activities and difficulties as well as plans for following month.
He asked the Ministry of Home Affairs to assist him in supervising ministries, agencies and localities' administrative reform and to report of the performance of the "one-stop" policy in April in order to find out shortcomings and solutions.
PM Dung also urged the promulgation of instructions for the implementation of laws and ordinances, the continuation of the fight against red-tape, corruption and negative phenomena, and strict punishments for those officials who abuse power.
He asked ministries to carry out pilot projects to reduce financial support for organisations in health care, education, scientific research, culture and sports sectors as well as plans to equitise hospitals and universities.-Enditem
