Trade Ministry opens “one-stop” office

18/05/2007 -- 9:55 PM

Ha Noi (VNA) – Foreign entrepreneurs that wish to open branches or operate in Viet Nam will now be required to knock at only one door at the Ministry of Trade (MoT) in order to obtain licenses.

Foreign investors are to become the beneficiaries of the “one-stop” mechanism, launched by the MoT on May 18 that falls into line with the Government’s on-going administrative reform process.

Other beneficiaries include those applying for licenses to set up businesses, import cigarettes, organise exhibitions in foreign countries and export garments and textiles to the US.

The “one-stop” office also benefits applicants for certificates of product origin, temporary import for re-export, temporary export for re-import, and Chinese, Lao and Cambodian goods that are in transit in Viet Nam.

As of 2008, the ministry said it would join other ministries and branches to carry out the one-stop office mechanism.-Enditem
