Belgian agency helps Can Tho city’s administrative reform

07/06/2007 -- 4:38 PM

Can Tho (VNA) – The Belgian Technical Cooperation Agency donated 104,000 EUR to the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho’s administrative reform endeavour.

The fund has been used to computerise office work at most departments and agencies in the city. Up to 95 percent of the city’s data has been kept in computers.

The decrease of writing papers in administrative work has helped the city save hundreds of millions of dong.

Can Tho city has so far strived to upgrade the administrative management at the Departments of Planning and Investment, Transport and Public Works, Natural Resources and Environment, Trade and Construction.

The city will put the “one-stop” policy into trial runs in sectors such as real estate, construction, trade and business registration and gradually modernise the administration at departments and branches of all levels.-Enditem
