Ha Noi (VNA) - More than 776 million USD in 17 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects were pumped into the tourism industry in the first half of the year, according to the Viet Nam National Administration for Tourism (VNAT).
Over the last decade the total number of FDI projects and investments in the travel and leisure sector have mushroomed to 182 and 4.3 billion USD respectively.
Market experts have said that a nationwide boom in golf is taking place with 14 golf courses in operation while 28 others are under construction.
Keen to keep pace with momentum, the government has also earmarked over 3.5 trillion VND from this year's state budget to be used on infrastructure projects and upgrades at key national tourist sites and for the development of the industry in the Central Highlands region, according to Pham Tu, Deputy Head of VNAT.-Enditem |
