Ha Noi (VNA) – The National Assembly’s Standing Committee has decided to revise the 2005 law on corruption prevention and combat this year.
The revision is necessary to make the law compatible with the Law on National Assembly Organisation and to meet the country’s requirements to combat corruption, said Justice Minister Uong Chu Luu at the 51st session of the NA Standing Committee on July 12.
He proposed that amendments should focus on the orgnisation, functions, tasks and power of anti-corruption steering committees at provincial level.
The NA Standing Committee also made it a task for this year to revise the 14-year-old Ordinance on the execution of prison sentences as a number of its stipulations are no longer in line with later legal documents.
The Standing Committee also discussed preparations and the agenda for the first plenary session of the 12th legislature, which is scheduled for July 19-August 6.-Enditem
