Seoul (VNA) - The Vietnamese embassy in the Republic of Korea on September 4 granted visa exemption certificates to eight overseas Vietnamese, the first on the Korean peninsula to benefit from the Prime Minister's Decision 135.
Huynh Thi Thai, who was the first to receive the paper, said the certificate is not only a legal document to facilitate visit by overseas Vietnamese to their homeland but also a recognition of their ethnically Vietnamese origin.
Thai, on behalf of the recipients, expressed her appreciation to the Vietnamese government for the new policy.
