Ha Noi (VNA) - The interests of overseas Vietnamese were the main focus of a scheme initiated by the Foreign Ministry to encourage overseas Vietnamese to make greater contributions to the country.
The scheme was put on the table of a conference held by the Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s Consultative Council for External Affairs and Overseas Vietnamese on September 20.
The scheme will dole out support and protect the overseas Vietnamese’s vital interests in order to facilitate better interaction between the communities.
At present, around 3.2 million Vietnamese people are residing in 94 countries and territories worldwide. The overseas Vietnamese community has been rapidly increasing and integrating into their resident societies, and many of them have scored great successes in various fields.
VFF General Secretary Huynh Dam stressed that the overseas Vietnamese community is an integral part of the Vietnamese nation, and one of the focal tasks of the VFF and its braches is to stimulate them to return to Viet Nam.-Enditem
