Kon Tum to build 575 billion VND administrative centre

07/10/2007 -- 8:03 PM

Kon Tum (VNA) - As many as 575 billion VND (close to 36 million USD) is to be poured into the construction of an administrative centre at the Bo Y International Border-gate Economic Zone in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum .

The centre is essential to the growth of the Bo Y International Border-gate Economic Zone, which is designed to be one of Kon Tum's three economic locomotives.

Construction work of the centre is planned to begin this year, focusing on offices of administrative agencies, services facilities and infrastructure works, including roads, electricity and water supply system, on a total land area of 132 ha.

Further, hi-tech infrastructure facilities, planned to cover 375 ha of land, will be built from 2015 through 2025 to serve the needs of an estimated 290,000 people who will live and work in the economic zone, according to a plan co-drawn by the Bo Y International Border-gate Economic Zone's Management Board and the Ministry of Construction's Urban and Industry Construction Consultancy Company.

As the state budget will only provide part of the necessary funding for the administrative centre's construction, Kon Tum province plans to see both domestic and foreign investors for the project.-Enditem
