Overseas Vietnamese give more aid to flood victims

Ha Noi (VNA) – The Committee for Overseas Vietnamese on November 16 received over 1 billion VND (62,500 USD) as relief aid for flood victims in the central region. The money was raised by the overseas Vietnamese communities in Russia , Poland , France , Italy , Finland , Denmark and Thailand . Also on November 16, Le Ngoc Huong, head of the Vietnamese Association in Russia , handed over 136 million USD (roughly 8,500 USD) to the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee to support the victims. Since early October, typhoon Lekima and consecutive floods slashed central provinces and cities, leaving nearly 240 dead and causing losses of 6,500 billion VND (approximately 400 million USD).-Enditem
