Ha Noi (VNA) – President Nguyen Minh Triet said he hoped chemical group BASF and German investors expand their operation in Viet Nam , pledging to create favourable conditions for investment.
President Triet’s comments were made prior to the BASF Asian-Pacific Conference in Ha Noi on November 20.
Triet praised BASF for selecting Viet Nam as conference host country which, he said, proved Viet Nam ’s growing appeal to foreign investors.
He welcomed BASF Group’s long-term investment strategy in Viet Nam and said he hoped the group continues to develop concrete plans to assist Viet Nam ’s chemical industry.
President Triet thanked Germany for its assistance to Viet Nam in national development and its support for Viet Nam ’s bid to join the WTO and become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
He said Viet Nam placed great importance on developing relations with Germany , which plays a leading role in the European Union and has strengths and potential in infrastructure construction, transport and communication, telecommunications, mechanical manufacturing, mechanicals and the processing industry.
BASF Board of Directives Chairman Dr Jurgen Hambrecht said that through its commitments to long-term investment, BASF Group hoped to share its experience with Viet Nam and help increase the value of Viet Nam ’s products.-Enditem |
