Ha Noi (VNA) – The Third National Environmental Film Festival’s panel awarded the prestigious Green Viet Nam, worth 20 million VND, to the documentary “ Chuyen Tu Mot Lang Nghe ” (From a Handicraft Village) by National Security Television.
The festival was co-held by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the Viet Nam Cinematography Association and Viet Nam Television to encourage Vietnamese filmmakers to produce more films about environmental issues.
Two first prizes were also presented to directors Tran Quoc Huy for his documentary “Tilo Va Con Vooc” (Tilo and Langur) ans Le Hoai Phuong for the science film Vang Anh Loai Chim Huyen Thoai (Oriole, a Legendary Bird).
The panel also awarded six second, nine third and 15 encouragement prizes to documentaries, reportages and science films.
According to Nguyen Hoa Binh, deputy-head of the National Environment Agency, the winning film now has the chance to compete at both regional and international film festivals.
