Overseas Vietnamese raise 1.9 billion VND for flood victims

Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – Overseas Vietnamese have raised 1.9 billion VND (118,750 USD) for flood victims in Viet Nam ’s central region in 2007. Bui Van Thinh, Deputy Director of the Department for Economy-Science and Technology Relations of the Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs on January 15 handed over the funds to representatives from Khanh Hoa, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Quang Nam provinces and Da Nang city. In 2007, overseas Vietnamese sent a total of 5 billion VND to help disadvantaged people in the homeland.-Enditem
