Overseas Vietnamese in Belgium gather for Tet

Brussels (VNA) – The overseas Vietnamese community in Belgium gathered on the eve of the Lunar New Year on February 6 to welcome the Year of Rat. Joining the traditional Tet festival of the Vietnamese community in Mons city, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Manh Dung wished that the overseas Vietnamese people would exert efforts to build an united and prestigious community to contribute more to the homeland. The Vietnamese culture has become part of the multi-coloured culture in Mons in particular and in Belgium in general, and the Vietnamese people in Mons with their acknowledged contributions to the locality have found their positions in the new community. Talking with Mons mayor Di Rupo, Dung highlighted the importance of the Viet Nam-Belgium relationship and their fine cooperation within the bilateral relationship and the European Union framework. The ambassador also expressed thanks to the local authorities for their support to the Vietnamese community’s activities.-Enditem
