HCM City (VNA) – Viet Nam ’s stock market continued its downward slide with the VN-Index losing another 25.43 points to close the March 5 trading session at 583.45 points, the lowest level since mid-2006.
Although the State Securities Commission has discussed measures to recover the stock market, the VN-Index suffered loss for the seven consecutive sessions since February 26.
The session saw some 10.6 million shares changing hands at a value of 591 billion VND. Only seven stocks gained, while blue chips such as Binh Dinh Mining (BMC), Tay Ninh Cable Car Tour (TCT) and Financing Promoting Technology (FPT) continued to go down.
The HaSTC-Index at the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre lost 7.66 points to end today’s trading session at 191.38 points. Some 7.2 million shares were changed hands at a total value of 352 billion VND.-Enditem
