HCM City (VNA) – Information of a pending financial crisis in the US market has led to a strong decline of stock indexes at both bourses on the March 17 trading session.
By the end of the day, the VN-Index at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) lost 28.09 points, or 4.36 percent, to close at 615.71 points. The market saw nearly 18 million shares worth more than 1.2 trillion VND change hands.
Among 153 listed shares, only five stocks rallied for gains. Many major stocks were offered at floor prices, however no purchases were made.
The HaSTC-Index at the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre had the same experience, closing today’s session at 210.16 points, down 14.53 points from the previous session.
A total of 5.1 million shares were traded at a value of 277 billion VND.-Enditem
